It’s hard to believe. But the first TSSAA state championship event of the 2026-27 sports calendar is right around the corner.

And as usual, several local competitors will be taking part.

The Division 2 golf regionals were held at Audubon this week and the low round of the day on the girls side went to Blair White of Fayette Academy, who finished at 1-over 72 to win in D2-A. In D2-AA, two past state champions — Catherine Bowie of Hutchison and Jada Lin of St. Mary’s — shared the title with rounds of 73.

On the boys side, MUS marked itself as a favorite with a 17-stroke victory over CBHS. The Owls’ Charles Snider was the individual winner with a round of 67.

The state tournaments begin Oct. 5 in Sevierville.

In soccer, ECS took another step closer to the postseason with an impressive victory against region rival Lausanne. In volleyball, Collierville wrapped up the regular-season district title — and the top seed for the district tournament — with a victory against a strong Arlington team.
