Beating Tulane softens the blow of missing the AAC Championship

Although a conference title will not be added to this year’s resume, ending the regular season by beating Tulane on the road for the first time since 2016 creates a similar feeling Memphis had after beating Iowa State in last year’s AutoZone Liberty Bowl. It also helped the Tigers reach 10 wins in back-to-back seasons for the first time in program history. They’ll play for 11 wins in a bowl game.
“It’s about how the season will be remembered,” Memphis quarterback Seth Henigan said. “Although we didn’t go to the conference championship and we didn’t achieve our one goal, you have to reset and find another goal.”
