Sam Brumfield spent two years at Northwest Mississippi Community College to start his career. He played the 2023 season at Middle Tennessee before spending last season at Virginia Tech and will finish with the Tigers.

“If you want to watch golf, great, we’ve got that,” the tournament’s executive director said. “But also if you don’t, I bet you still have a good time.”

With the victory, Memphis took the first four games in the series and claimed its third consecutive series win since the All-Star break.

The Tigers now have 13 games in place for each spot on their 2025-26 nonconference schedule. 

A senior and a junior are competing for a starting spot. But things look very promising elsewhere as the Dragons look to build on last year’s 11-victory season.

Juniors Finley Lavin and Ashley Henderson, a Harding grad, will captain a youthful Tigers team as it bids to return to the NCAA Tournament after a one-year absence.

Cortez Braham Jr. immediately becomes one of the top candidates to lead a retooled Memphis receiving room. He caught 56 passes for 724 yards and four touchdowns for Nevada last season.

Germantown Municipal School District recently changed its clear-bag policy, joining the majority of public school districts around Memphis.
