Tennessee ranks fifth in the nation for death rate due to opioid use. Two new treatment centers have opened to increase treatment for Memphians suffering from opioid addiction.
The Pax Memphis Recovery center has provided outpatient addiction counseling and services in East Memphis since 2018. The Board of Adjustment just approved a temporary variance allowing the center to provide inpatient care for up to two years.
We must not allow social distancing to lead to dangerous social isolation. The recovery community is aware of the challenges created by COVID-19, and making sure resources are available for those who need them.
