Concerts in the Grove return to Germantown with new spring lineup

Award-winning Americana, jazz and gospel acts; a local roots favorite; an all-female tap group; a tribute to Tony Bennett; modern dance and a Guinean acrobatic troupe are all part of GPAC’s 30th season.
Kentucky Derby fans put on their fanciest hats and headed to The Grove at 1801 Exeter Road in Germantown Saturday, May 6, to watch the famous horse race on a giant outdoor screen. Mint juleps were served to add to the Derby atmosphere.
A trumpeter will take the stage at Graceland, New Edition is bringing its New Jack Swing flare to the FedExForum and the Orpheum Theatre will host the soulful Patti LaBelle. Plus, a Georgia-based country-rock band will make an appearance at Hernando’s Hide-A-Way.
Iris founding director Michael Stern says, ‘Welcoming a live audience again, even limited capacity and even outdoors, is incredibly emotional.’
Musicians will perform live at The Grove at GPAC on Thursday nights through April. The concerts are free, and cocktails and snacks will be available to purchase.
The Grove at Germantown Performing Arts Center provides a socially-distanced outdoor dinner and a movie event on Thursdays through Oct. 15.
Germantown is opening The Grove at GPAC outdoor entertainment venue, but for now COVID-19 requirements limit the experience to small groups at the new venue.
