Among six programs for which the Tigers budgeted revenue generated from ticket sales and parking, only men’s basketball has fallen short.
Although some in the University of Memphis community are angry with President Bill Hardgrave over the recent end of the school’s DEI efforts, the school’s Board of Trustees awarded him a $100,000 performance bonus Wednesday.
Memphis athletic director Ed Scott says his biggest concern is sales of single-game tickets. But the Tigers are also projecting more than $750,000 in lost revenue due to the ongoing Liberty Stadium renovation.
An almost 3% increase represents the University of Memphis’ highest tuition hike in nearly seven years.
“We’ve managed to keep a lid on tuition,” University of Memphis Board Chairman Doug Edwards said.
Committee meetings run throughout the morning; the full board convenes at 1:30 p.m.
