This monthly column is a non-exhaustive selection of art exhibitions happening in the greater Memphis area. For consideration, please email an artist bio/statement, show closing and opening dates, examples of works featured and any special events during the show’s run to eperry@dailymemphian.com at least two weeks before opening.

Amelia Briggs’ ‘drupe’ at Sheet Cake Gallery, now on view:

Amelia Briggs is based in Brooklyn, New York, and works in fiber and painting to create wall hangings that are reminiscent of quilts, botanical and anatomical forms. “Drupe” focuses on interiors. (The word itself means a fleshy fruit with a hard and hidden interior.) Briggs earned a master of Fine Arts from the University of Memphis and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Indiana University.

Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

Free admission. 405 Monroe Ave.
