A Cooper-Young cocktail bar lost its liquor license. It’s trying to survive with a little help from friends.

June Hurt does not want to see Cooper-Young lose another locally owned restaurant.
“When I heard that Memphis Whistle had lost its liquor license and was struggling, I wanted to do something,” she said.
Hurt set up a GoFundMe page last week entitled “Save The Memphis Whistle: Keep the Spirit Alive” to help Memphis Whistle owner Jef Hicks keep the neighborhood cocktail bar open while he works on getting his liquor license reinstated.
