Sound Bites: Meddlesome’s approach to Memphis water concerns and a changing brewery scene

Ben Pugh of Meddlesome Brewing has led the beer company through twists and turns in the brewery business since it opened in 2017.
He joined me on the Sound Bites podcast to talk beer, the Cordova taproom and changes in the industry — seltzers, NA trends, events, IPA hate (and love) and his background.
We talked about the one beer he wishes would have been successful and what he himself drinks when not at the taproom.
We also talked about why he supports the Protect Our Aquifer advocacy group.
Pugh joined a group of Memphis-area brewery owners in signing an opinion letter written by POA advocacy coordinator Rheannan Watson. Published in The Daily Memphian in July, the letter called on SpaceXAI to resume building its promised water-recycling plant.

“I’m not against AI, I have no problem with it,” Pugh said in the interview. “I have a problem with sustainability.”
