Daily Jigsaw: Colorful Tigers
Mark Long freely admits he cribbed the idea from the folks who run the Germantown Charity Horse Show.
Back in 2008, horse-show officials had 21 life-sized steeds constructed from fiberglass then painted in an array of colorful designs as a way to celebrate the suburb’s deep connection with the equine. Those horses were placed in yards and parking lots around Germantown, and 17 years later, many remain.
So why not do the same thing for the University of Memphis and kick it up a notch? Why not commission 100 fiberglass tigers to celebrate the school’s centennial in 2012? And why not raise a little money for the school’s Alumni Association while we’re at it?
