Shelley and David Trigg were the first two fans through the door Saturday night at the Memphis Sports & Events Center.
The first two Memphis Hound Dogs fans, that is.
Who was No. 1?
“My husband is a gentleman,” Shelley said, “so he let me go through first.
“But …”
There’s always a ‘but’ when it comes to Memphis football.
“But he had the tickets,” Shelley continued, “so he came around in front of me.”
The Triggs — whose son, Sam, a recent University of Memphis graduate, just happens to be interning with the Arena League pro football franchise — didn’t plan to be the first patrons in the building for the expansion Hound Dogs’ first home game in Memphis.
