That’s what the sign says, anyway. And it certainly sets the tone.
“The ‘E’ is missing,” said Dora Ivey, who works at the Memphis Visitor Center at the corner of Elvis Presley Boulevard and Brooks Road. “It’s embarrassing.”
Officials broke ground on the Elvis Presley Boulevard improvement project in 2012. The Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) now says that it will be finished in 2031.
That’s 19 years, give or take. Or nine years longer than it took the United States to build the Panama Canal.
