Shelby County is back at the polls starting Friday, July 17, for the Thursday, Aug. 6, election, and the ballot is lengthy.
To help readers make an informed decision, the following provides an introduction to the more than 150 candidates on the various ballots.
All voters will be asked to make a selection in the Shelby County general election, but voters will choose either a Democrat or Republican ballot for the federal and state primaries. Those who live in suburban municipalities also have special races to decide.
