6 people apply for open position on Germantown school board

Germantown received six applications for the open school board position, including one from the individual destined to take the seat later this year.
The vacancy was created after Scotty Hendricks Jr. resigned earlier this year from the Germantown Municipal School District school board. He was appointed to finish out the term of Daniel Chatham, who resigned in 2024 after enrolling his children in private school.
Applicants had to fill out a lengthy application and submit it by Wednesday at noon. The names were released Thursday, June 30. The chosen individual will serve for a short time since the position is on the Nov. 3 ballot, and the qualifying deadline was in March.
