Police said they were responding to a domestic violence disturbance at the home when Thiam, armed with a knife, confronted officers.

The three officers fired shots and Thiam died on the scene. Thiam graduated from Sheffield High School in 2016 where he was on the school’s soccer team. He moved to the United States in 2008 from Senegal.

Police said they have recovered video of the incident from the body cameras of all three officers and it has been turned over to the TBI.
