Millington recommends candidate for police chief

Joe Oakley, a former deputy chief with the Memphis Police Department, is being recommended to serve as Millington’s next chief of police.
Oakley recently emerged as the top candidate to oversee the suburban force. Gary Graves, Millington director of public safety, submitted the formal recommendation based on Oakley’s qualifications.
The suburb’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen will consider Oakley’s appointment Monday, Oct. 12.
