This week, the Shelby County Commission approved the county government giving itself a $43 million loan.
The money will come from the county’s debt service fund to its general fund and allow the county to ease its cash-flow crunch.
For those whose eyes are already glazing over — imagine having two separate bank accounts, one to pay credit card bills, which are most of your regular household expenses, and one escrow account to pay the mortgage.
