Good morning, Memphis. It’s Wednesday, Sept. 3, National Welsh Rarebit Day. As a kid, I always thought people were saying “Welsh rabbit,” which seemed like an awful thing to eat. But turns out it’s just fancy cheese toast with beer, butter and mustard, and who wouldn’t like that? Maybe today is the day to try the Ski Queen Rarebit Tartine at Fawn.

Shooting led to Norris’ recusal: U.S. District Judge Mark Norris, who recused himself from the Tyré Nichols case, did so over his reaction to the shooting of one of his former law clerks.
