The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for Sunday as temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s with heat indices higher than 105.
High temperatures and heat indices are expected to continue through at least the middle of the week, NWS meteorologist Caroline Adcock said, and maybe even longer. Temperatures will be in the mid-to-upper 90s all week, Adcock added, with heat indices reaching as high as 107.
“Make sure you stay hydrated, wear loose-fitting clothing. If you do have to be outside, make sure you take plenty of breaks,” Adcock said. “There’s a lot of vulnerable groups so if you know someone, especially the elderly, make sure to check on them this week.”
