After the Grizzlies beat the Warriors in January, Ja Morant stared down a kid in a Golden State jersey. The kid is Maddox Hehn, 8, from Nashville. He was back at FedExForum Monday night. But he sure looked different this time around.
The Grizzlies forward will join star point guard Ja Morant on the bench. The Warriors are missing Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson.
“Not to be a total buzzkill here, but clearly this game isn’t the mega-showdown we thought it was going to be.”
When De’Anthony Melton is hot from 3-point range, the record shows it means great things for the Grizzlies.

Coach Taylor Jenkins said Wednesday’s MRI on Morant’s knee showed no structural damage.
The Grizzlies center was 13 when he met and played for Kenny McFadden in New Zealand after Adams’ father died.
“It doesn’t worry me a lot, we just have to get the group whole and build that chemistry as quick as possible,” coach Taylor Jenkins said Wednesday.
“We still got the grit, and we still got the grind, and we got a lot of swagger to us,” Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks told a reporter after the Memphis NBA team’s defeat of the Brooklyn Nets.
ESPN came to Memphis to cover Ja Morant. They got a whole team of swaggering Grizzlies instead.
The Grizzlies guard hopes to get Mike Miller, whose record he broke, to sign the keepsake.
