The Tigers will look to extend their winning streak to 10 when they travel to the Roundhouse for a matchup with the Shockers Sunday.

Williams, once a four-star signee in Memphis’ Class of 2023, announced his commitment to the Knights Friday afternoon on Instagram.

Williams made his professional debut on Wednesday for the NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA).

The induction ceremony for the new University of Memphis Hall of Fame members will be held on Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Billy J. Murphy Complex.

The Memphis basketball coach had remained publicly supportive of the four-star signee for the better part of nine months after Williams was arrested for allegedly shooting at an occupied vehicle.

Memphis shot over 50% from the floor but failed to defend from just about anywhere on the court — especially from deep.

Laird Veatch, the University of Memphis athletic director, is finally getting his hands on a football stadium and $120 million. Now all he has to do is raise another $50 million and figure out how to rebuild his new stadium on the fly. 

Jones leads the No. 13 Tigers (13-2, 2-0 AAC) with 20.7 points per game to go with 6.7 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.6 assists per game.

The Roadrunners are arguably the worst team in an AAC that’s largely weak from top to bottom.

Greg Gaston, Parth Upadhyaya and Tim Buckley have plenty to talk through after a wild week for the No. 13 Memphis Tigers basketball team.

“Coming out so flat, these teams are getting up 10, 15 on us early on. I think that just needs to be a (point of) emphasis on the way we start games and us being the physical team first,” said Memphis point guard Jahvon Quinerly.

“Before it could even really begin, the Mikey Williams era at the University of Memphis is over.”

Mills had averaged 7.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 24.2 minutes through 14 games for Memphis. The fifth-year senior’s college career is over.

Memphis was flat out the gate against SMU but eventually turned things around before point guard Jahvon Quinerly played hero. Again.

While the Tigers took a late lead late, turnovers in the final minutes of the game plagued the Memphis offense.

The Tigers will have to regroup quickly after a rough couple days to take on an SMU basketball team that’s top 50 in KenPom and the NET.
