No regrets: Memphis QB Brendon Lewis plays through pain for a reason

The Melissa (Texas) High junior varsity football team ran the same opening play for nine straight games.
The philosophy was simple: Let the freshman quarterback, Brendon Lewis, keep the ball on a QB counter and take it for a touchdown.
Lewis scored on the first snap for nine consecutive games. The streak would likely have continued if the starting quarterback on the varsity team hadn’t gotten injured. The coaching staff wanted Lewis on varsity from the beginning anyway, but Lewis’ father, Brian Lewis, didn’t wanted him to wait.
