Roofer Andre Barlow said he watched in horror as the gunman followed three people out of the Collierville Kroger and shot them one by one as they hid near a dumpster.

Six victims of the Collierville shooting remain hospitalized at Regional One Health, doctors said Friday. 

Authorities have identified Uk Thang as the gunman at the Collierville Kroger. Thang also died in the shooting, of what is believed to be a self-inflicted wound.

Olivia King was killed during a shooting incident that was reported around 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The suspect also was shot to death at the scene, a shooting which authorities say appeared self-inflicted.

Some of the reaction called for an immediate look at the causes of such violence as part of a national debate while others called for supporting those grieving from the loss of life, at least for now.

National media outlets sent out alerts following news reports on the shooting.

A gunman walked into a Collierville grocery store Thursday afternoon and opened fire, killing at least one person and injuring 12 others before taking his own life, authorities said.
