Germantown residents changing trash service with higher-priced contract

Germantown’s new, and somewhat controversial, sanitation contract took effect July 1 with Waste Pro continuing to provide service but at a much higher price than before.
Even though the new contract started less than two weeks ago, Germantown residents have been calling the city with questions and requests for the past four months — ever since the price increase was initially proposed.
Under the new contract, residents’ costs increased between 60% and 86%, depending on their service.
