Rachel’s Flower Shop has closed after nearly 70 years, but owner Rachel Greer’s legacy as a community pillar endures.
Greer, 73, said the shop, which moved from the corner of Poplar Avenue and North Hollywood Street to a studio in Binghampton, closed because of slowing sales and rising costs.
But she also wants to spend more time with her family, like taking her grandchildren fishing, helping her grandson complete his color-coded Hot Wheels collection and spending time with her daughter.
