Recipe Exchange: Tsunami’s pork and lemongrass meatballs

Tsunami has been closed since February, and I am sure I’m not the only one who misses this beloved Cooper-Young restaurant.

One of my regular appetizer orders was the pork and lemongrass meatballs. Flavorful and savory, the meatballs were perfect for sharing while we waited for our main courses.

Tsunami chef and owner Ben Smith, now the sous chef at Memphis Hunt and Polo Club, said the dish made its way onto Tsunami’s menu after customers requested a non-seafood option even though his restaurant was known for its Pacific Rim-inspired fish dishes.
