On paper, Tennessee Republicans should be riding high and on comfortable cruise control with just days remaining before the Nov. 3 midterm election.
GOP candidates, party leaders and their enormous base of loyal Tennessee voters would seem to be immune from the dreaded Trump foot-in-mouth disease — not to mention his costly foreign and domestic policies — that are causing so much Republican heartburn in other states.
