Native soil: Dixon manager grows his side business with indigenous plants

In his job at the Dixon Gallery & Gardens, Adam Queen is often wrist-deep in dirt, rooting plants and growing flowers that are harvested for arrangements. As the Dixon’s cutting gardens manager, he helps formulate soil mixes and takes care of the roses and other perennials.
And after clocking out for the day, he heads home to work on other plants in his own backyard.
