Tulane at Memphis: What to know before Friday night’s kickoff

By , Daily Memphian Updated: November 07, 2025 7:48 AM CT | Published: November 06, 2025 5:30 PM CT

The matchup between Memphis and Tulane on Friday (8 p.m., ESPN) could turn out to be an elimination game for a berth in the American Conference Championship.

Both schools have one conference loss, and there is only a slim chance a team will qualify for the league title game with two losses in conference play.

Memphis (8-1, 4-1 American), No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25, has won 11 consecutive games at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. It is two home wins away from posting an unblemished regular-season home record in back-to-back seasons.
