GREENVILLE, N.C. — The Memphis Tigers’ season goals have shifted after suffering a second consecutive loss Saturday.
A 31-27 victory by East Carolina’s (6-3, 4-1 American Conference) at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium gave the Tigers their third conference loss, making them 8-3 overall and 4-3 in league play.
The Tigers aren’t mathematically eliminated, but they’ll need too many teams to lose their final two games of the season to create anything except a farfetched chance of making a conference title game appearance.
