How linebacker Mike Montgomery went from FCS to the Memphis Tigers

Mike Montgomery was playing for Garfield High in Seattle when he caught his big break while playing against rival school Rainer Beach High.

Washington Huskies scouts attended the game to watch Montgomery’s friend, current Washington Commanders NFL offensive lineman Josh Conerly, play for Rainer Beach. Montgomery shined that night and Washington offered him a scholarship the next day.

The offers began rolling in after that.
