Arlington slaps moratorium on vape shops, approves beer, liquor ordinances
Arlington Mayor Mike Wissman believes a 12-month moratorium on new vape shops isΒ a good idea.Β (Mark Weber/The Daily Memphian file)
There will be no new vape shops in Arlington until at least spring of 2027.
The townβs Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Tuesday, March 3, unanimously approved a 12-month moratorium on any new vape shops. Vices were the focal point of the night, as the board also passed second and final readings to amend ordinances related to the sale of beer and liquor.
The vape moratorium gives town officials time to study recent changes in state laws and the impact of vape products on public health, especially adolescents.
