Germantown resident’s house backs up to manure pile, but annual horse show doesn’t bother her

Some may be annoyed by the sights, sounds and smells that accompany the Germantown Charity Horse Show, but Jill Beaver is not one of them.
She becomes giddy as the preparations begin for the 77th event, one of the largest multi-breed shows in the U.S. It opens Tueday, June 2, and runs through Saturday, June 6.
“I think the horse show is one of the best things Germantown has going for it,” Beaver said. “… It’s not barbecue fest, but it’s a very good time.”
