On Tuesday afternoon, a company representative, speaking on background, held a call with local reporters and took questions about the project.

It sits a few hundred yards from the Tennessee Valley Authority Southaven Combined Cycle Plant. The plant will provide a power source for the energy-intensive data center.
CTC Property, a subsidiary of xAI, applied for air-emissions permits for its fleet of natural gas turbines in January.
Musk has said he wants xAI to be the most “truth-seeking” artificial intelligence, its training not swayed by ideology. At present, its training appears to not be swayed by anyone, including Musk.
Deemed Colossus, the xAI supercomputer is the “most powerful AI training system in the world,” Elon Musk wrote on X Monday, Sept. 2.
