The Greater Memphis Chamber announced a multimillion-dollar investment by Silver Hills Bakery, marking the Canadian company’s first U.S. manufacturing location.
The company will scale back production at its Memphis facility off of Airways Boulevard starting next year.
If approved by the union, the deal could end an almost two-month long strike.
Lee Saunders, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, encouraged striking employees of the cereal maker’s Memphis plant.
The union representing the Memphis employees say workers are striking in all four of Kellogg’s ready-to-eat cereal factories, which include sites in Michigan, Nebraska and Pennsylvania.
