The two Downtown Memphis structures will be renovated. And for one of the spaces, the new updates “places pedestrians first.”
Studios and one- and two-bedroom units are coming to a site right off of Union Avenue.
Both Gussied Up and Bar Limina are a part of Cnct. design’s goal to make the Edge District a Memphis destination.
“It’s gone through a few iterations and we’re excited that someone’s picking up the ball and really pushing it to completion,” said the founder of Cnct. Design.
“We want it to be a place that’s for Memphians, by Memphians,” said John Halford, founder of Cnct Design, about the Edge District.
The 18 S. Main St. building was formerly owned by developer Tom Intrator — and had been part of his plans for several Main Street properties — but was transferred during an April foreclosure sale.
The chefs behind the popular Marshall Avenue deli are putting their twist on a dive bar, with retro details and the return of their smashburger.
The Collierville intersection at North Byhalia Road and Wolf River Boulevard will get a shopping center, South Main to get new retail spots and the three-building Mendenhall Road Collection was sold for $1.175 million.
Formerly The Madison, the 15-story, 78,412-square-foot hotel will be refurbished in phases to ensure the hotel can continue operations.
