Redevelopment of the Sheraton Memphis Downtown Hotel into a Marriott could be complete by January 2029.
The timeline was announced Friday, Feb. 20, at the annual Lodging Industry Update hosted by the Metropolitan Memphis Hotel and Lodging Association at the Guest House at Graceland.
“We wish it could be sooner,” said Stephen Kallaher, chief hospitality officer at Carlisle LLC, the company spearheading the project. “But to do it right, we’ve got to spend the time to make sure that we get all the elements that are appropriate for a convention center hotel.”
