NBA box score for Monday’s game between the Memphis Grizzlies and Minnesota Timberwolves.

GG Jackson will make his Grizzlies season debut Monday. Memphis coach Taylor Jenkins feels Jackson’s impact will need to start on defense. 

The Grizzlies will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in their first nationally televised home game of the season, which is also their MLK Day game.

Big man Santi Aldama led the way over the Spurs, delighting his teammates. “Aggressive Santi is good for the Memphis Grizzlies,” said Luke Kennard.

Ja Morant made the biggest plays late to push the Grizzlies to victory over the Timberwolves, but teammates Jaren Jackson and Desmond Bane did much of the heavy-lifting to get to that point.

Jaren Jackson Jr. scored 33 points, Ja Morant made a tiebreaking jumper with 18 seconds left, and the Memphis Grizzlies beat the Minnesota Timberwolves in a Saturday night game that was tight from start to finish.

The Memphis Grizzlies signed G League breakout Zyon Pullin to a two-way contract. Pullin is averaging 24.8 points, 7.7 assists and 6.7 rebounds through six games of the G League regular season. 

Although the timeout call was a miscue, several Grizzlies players took up for coach Taylor Jenkins, adding that the game was not determined by one play.

Taylor Jenkins took the blame for the loss. It was nice of him to say. But the Grizzlies real problem may be their inability to handle the best in the West.

Ja Morant scored 27 points in his return, but Houston’s Alperen Sengun had 32 points and 14 rebounds, leading the Rockets over the Grizzlies 119-115.
