Derrick Rose, a former NBA MVP and the star point guard who led the Memphis Tigers to the 2008 Final Four, is calling it a career.

With GG Jackson out until at least December, Jake LaRavia may have a clear path to opening night rotation minutes for the third straight season.

The Grizzlies announced that GG Jackson will be reevaluated in three months, meaning the second-year forward could miss a month or more of the regular season. 

It appears unlikely he will be ready for the start of the season, although recovery time for the injury is usually dependent on the type of fracture that occurs.
