The Memphis Tigers are listing starting quarterback Brendon Lewis’s injury status as “day-to-day,” coach Ryan Silverfield said Monday.
Lewis suffered an apparent lower-body injury after being sacked during the Tigers’ first second-half drive in a 31-24 loss to UAB last Saturday in Birmingham.
The Nevada transfer helped Memphis win its first six games and climb as high as No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25, but as No. 18 South Florida (6-1, 3-0 American Conference) comes to town this Saturday (11 a.m., ESPN2) the Tigers (6-1, 2-1) are no longer ranked.
