After a loss to UAB followed by bounce-back win against South Florida, Tigers linebacker Sam Brumfield lays out what’s ahead in the days to come.

The Tigers’ game against USF last Saturday was paused multiple times for injured South Florida players, eventually causing Memphis fans to boo.

A meeting with South Florida was must-win for Memphis, which played like it down the stretch to upset the then-No. 18 Bulls. Now, every other game moving forward is must-win for the No. 25 Tigers, too.

The Tigers’ 34-31 upset of South Florida has moved Memphis back into the Top 25.

Memphis’ Matt Adcock may not be the most athletically gifted Tiger, but his rural Misssissippi work ethic goes a long way.

The expanded playoff has helped Group of Six schools, including Memphis and South Florida, share a bigger part of the national spotlight during the regular season. 

ESPN College GameDay may have interest in the Memphis Tigers, but much depends on what happens in other games this weekend.

“It would be terrific,” American Conference commissioner Tim Pernetti said of the possibility of College GameDay coming to Memphis. “I’m crossing every finger. I’m saying every prayer, hoping that (the Tigers and USF) continue to play well. And we’ll see where the chips fall.”
