This year will be the first time the Tigers have played in the Gasparilla Bowl since they suffered a 27-point loss to South Florida in what was then called the St. Petersburg Bowl in 2008.

Memphis offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey is no longer with the program, a source confirmed, and a Tigers offensive assistant coach is leaving with him.

The Tigers entered the early signing period without a head coach, but Eric Perry and others stayed committed to Memphis.

The Tigers are in the middle of a coaching search after former head football coach Ryan Silverfield left to fill the coaching vacancy at Arkansas.

The Memphis Tigers have arguably the biggest brand in the Group of Six, and they are among the top resourced non-power conference schools in the country.
