Baptist buys East Memphis hotel

Baptist Memorial Hospital has bought the Hampton Inn at 33 Humphreys Center Drive, adding another piece of land to its East Memphis campus.

Baptist Memorial Health Care Inc., which has a 706-bed general hospital at 6019 Walnut Grove Road, paid $5.8 million for the building and 2-acre site that abuts their property.

The 52,604-square-foot hotel was built in 1992.
