Local beekeeper hopes to make city a little sweeter

Local beekeeper Kevin Woods believes Memphis would be better if it operated like a beehive.
“Bees work for the greater good of the hive, and they work in small sectors, but they work collectively together with communication, teamwork, selflessness, and that’s kind of what we’re wanting to show Memphis, like we can do this,” he said.
Woods is the co-owner of the Bee 901 Co. nonprofit. He said that each worker bee thinks the success of the hive depends on her — they’re all female — so they will do whatever is necessary, big or small, to help it thrive.
